Romans 4:11 And he received the sign of circumcision, a seal of the righteousness of the faith which he had yet being uncircumcised: that he might be the father of all them that believe, though they be not circumcised; that righteousness might be imputed unto them also: 22 And therefore it was imputed to him for righteousness. 24 But for us also, to whom it shall be imputed, if we believe on him that raised up Jesus our Lord from the dead; 5:13 (For until the law sin was in the world: but sin is not imputed when there is no law. James 2:23 And the scripture was fulfilled which saith, Abraham believed God, and it was imputed unto him for righteousness: and he was called the Friend of God.
The Bible also calls imputed righteousness a gift. And remember that a gift must be free or it is not a gift. Romans 5:17 For if by one man's offence death reigned by one; much more they which receive abundance of grace and of the gift of righteousness shall reign in life by one, Jesus Christ.) 18 Therefore as by the offence of one judgment came upon all men to condemnation; even so by the righteousness of one the free gift came upon all men unto justification of life. 2 Peter 1:3a According as his divine power hath given unto us all things that pertain unto life and godliness, |
